imdeletingok-deactivated2012081 asked: I'm using your Purple Photography theme, with the drop down hover MP3 thing. I was wondering which music player I should use that would work in that drop box because neither Hypster, nor SCM Player work. Thanks :) x

hypster should work. follow this tutorial but put the code in the html in the theme coding. Thats what I used when I used it on my blog.

THEME 4- WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE (GRID VERSION):
preview / code
code password: charlotta
This theme features optional photo captions. Through the appearance options you can: change the sidebar photo and the background color. To edit the description, links, and tab title, you need to find those codes in the html. If you don’t know how to do that, message me and I can gladly help! This theme is best for photo blogs, but great for everything. You can NOT upload a background image, unless you edit the html a lot. You can change the color of the background.

Photoshop: Making Calendars

theblog-diaries:

1. Open up a new image in Photoshop by clicking File> New. For the image dimensions, make yours 200 by 150 pixels (recommended).

2. Using a website like Google, Flickr, or Weheartit, find a picture or image to use as the background for your calendar. Preferably, it should fit the season of whatever month you’re making. I’m going to be making a July calendar, and I’ll be using this photo.

3. Open up your background image in Photoshop & resize it to fit your calendar. Do this by clicking Image>Image Size. I am making mine 200x150 pixels to fit the calendar.
Photobucket

4. Drag your background image onto your calendar using the move tool (Photobucket). Click Layer>Flatten image.

5. Pull up a calendar online of the month & year that you’re making. I’m using iCal; you can also Google “2011 Calendar” and you should find results.

6. Using your text tool, type in your first row of dates, leaving two spaces between each number. I’m using the font Volter (goldfish) in black. For example, this is my calendar:
Photobucket
So I’m just typing the first row, 1 and 2. Move this layer to match the placement on the calendar:
Photobucket
You may not be able to see the numbers yet depending on your background; this will be fixed later.

7. Continue this process until you’ve completed your calendar, creating a new text layer for each row (note—make sure that the numbers line up. Once you get into double digits, you may need to go back to your previous layers and adjust the spacing.):
Photobucket
It may not be perfect; it’s okay. It just takes some patience and switching off between layers until you can get the spacing right.

8. OPTIONAL STEP: Using the shape tool (this may appear as a line tool to you. If so, right click it and select the shape tool, shaped like a rectangle)Photobucket, draw a rectangle around each row of the dates. Make sure your settings match mine (except for the color—this can be any you choose) & that the layers are underneath all of your text layers:

9. Now, add a title to your calendar, and you’re done! My finished product:
Photobucket
(& yes, you can use this for your blog!)
